The second day was the foot races, which were the main events, there were four types of races. First, sprinters did 1 stade which was the length of the stadium. Second was the 2 stade race, then the long distance race which was anywhere from 7 to 24 stades. Lastley, was another 2 stade race but they wore armor to train them for military purposes.

The Greco-Persian Wars are a sequence of wars that were fought between the Persians and the Greeks. This lasted about a half a decade from 499 BC to 488 BC. The Ionian Revolt initiated the First Major Persian War. This article is good, although it is very wordy, it eventually does get the point across and explains how the wars were to come about.

Alexander The Great was determined to conquer the world, but as we know didn happen but that didn keep him from capturing other places, like Syria and Mesopotamia and other countries.

After getting rid of other political opponents and murdering his rival he became Athens leading statesmen. Pericles was also incharge of the military during the Peloponnesian Wars. He did a lot to help his people and prosper in a positive way. He would also pass many laws, one of which the poor were allowed to see plays in the theatre for free.

Both of Aristotles parents died when he was young and he was taken in by his uncle Proxenus who sent Aristotle to Plato's acadamy. After he graduated from school he became a teacher there for 20 years and then opened his own school when Alexander became King. Then he taught at that school for 12 years and that is when he wrote much of his early works.

None of his original works exist today but he is still recognized by many writters. he gained most of his fame from doing sculptures of Athena which is in the Parthenon and Zeus which is in Olympia. He was thought to have many teacher that helped him train to make these fantastic statues.

In 468 BC he was in comptetitons for his writings where he won first place about 20 times and second place several other times. Aeschylus was born in the city of Eleusis which isnear Athens, in 525 BC and died in 456 BC. He was a Greek Dramatist and one of the earliest great tragic poets. Also, he fought against the Persians in 490 BC at Marathon and in Salamis in 480 BC. Aeschylus introduced a second actore to his plays which drastically changed all plays after his. He has written about 90 plays and they were first preformed in 500 BC. The titles of 79 of his plays are known and only 7 have survived to today.
