Royal Tea Garden

Surrounded by the five peaks which are in the shape of a lotus flower, the royal tea garden is just situated in the sunken spot, the heart of the "flower", which endowed the place with high geomantic quality. Wu Lizhen, the founder of Mengshan Tea in Han Dynasty planted seven seeds of "miraculous tea" in the garden. Since Tang Dynasty, the tea leaves in the garden were picked and paid as tribute to emperors. In the 13th year of Chunxi Period of Emperor Kaozong's reign in Southern Song Dynasty [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], the tea garden was officially named "Royal Tea Garden".

Mengquan Well

Also called "weet -Dew Well" the well is near the royal tea garden. Two steles engraved with the words"古蒙泉"(Gumeng Well)stand beside the well. Each column around the well is engraved with the pattern "wo dragons play a firing ball" Master Ganlu—Wu Lizhen, the Buddhist monk used the well as the water source for his tea plantation. According to the historical records, "ith a stone on its mouth, the well only holds 1 deciliter water despite of rain or draught." so an unusual fragrance can be smelt when the well water is used to make tea.

As a center of tea culture, the museum also preserves steles with engravations about Mending Tea and various famous brands of tea.

Ganlu Stone Chamber

Situated on the Ganlu Peak standing on the left of the Royal Tea Garden, the stone chamber is a complete stone architecture of Ming Dynasty with a single double- pitch roofed room. The chamber has a unique architectural style of Ming Dynasty: stone halls, bracket sets, roofing, light leaks and no leakages of rain.
