The tulou last minute China travel deals cluster at Hongkeng Village is spread out on either side of a river, and is full of all sorts of tulou: round, square, U-shaped; short and tall, big and small.
Parts of this cluster have been developed for tourism, and we’ll use the tourist trail either side of the river as a base for our China tourism, visiting the main sights along the way.
The earliest tulou in Hongkeng date back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279), making them some of the first to be built.
One of the main tulou here is Zhencheng Lou, a round tulou with a two storey inner ring. Zhencheng Lou is one of the most recently built tulou, finished in 1917.
